A smart sun protection with GEIGER AIR is something people experience every day in their own home. It is flexible and individual as the AIR products can be adapted to any construction situation in order to meet every comfort requirement. This has been illustrated by the following three examples from the stand-alone solution to the fully-equipped Smart Home.
When the new home is finally ready to move in, the family budget is often tight. Some wishes, such as those for a Smart Home system, must be postponed. However with the choice of an AIR drive for the shutters and the awning on the terrace, the inhabitants of a Swabian detached house have left all possibilities open for a smart future. The sun protection is now controlled via LC handheld transmitters as a standalone solution. But with the appropriate extension, the sun protection elements can turn into a networked, fully automated system. The Smart Home technology is already implemented in each AIR product: Smart Home Ready. Thus, shutters and awnings can also be subsequently integrated into a Smart Home. The control functions can be simply extended with the Loxone Miniserver. It connects all elements and enables intelligent communication with other building services.
If you want to update your aging sun protection, you will usually take the opportunity to increase the operating convenience and replace the conventional hand crank or belt with electric drives. This is exactly what the owners of an elegant South German townhouse have done. And they even went one step further: the roller shutters and the external Venetian blinds were equipped with AIR drives that communicate via a Loxone Miniserver and are additionally connected to the security technology. For example, if the smoke detector or the alarm system goes off, the rolling shutters and the external Venetian blinds will automatically open, clear the escape route and deter potential intruders from attempting to break in.
If you want to find out more about living in a networked house, you can now test it out: Loxone, Austrian Smart Home expert and partner of GEIGER Antriebstechnik, has built in Kollerschlag the first Smart Show home in Europe. The entire house technology of the 260m2 building is fully automated. The sun protection has also been integrated into the Smart Home control system - via GEIGER AIR drives with an innovative radio system. Heating, ventilation, shading, lighting and multimedia are connected in all rooms. In the Show home, the sun protection is part of various protection and safety devices. In the event of a fire alarm, the escape route is illuminated, the blinds are raised, and the emergency number is automatically called. In case of a burglary attempt, the lights begin to flash, the blinds open and music is played throughout the house at maximum volume.
Smart Home solutions not only improve comfort and security but also increase the energy efficiency. Heating, ventilation and sun protection are optimally matched to each other in order to set the perfect temperature throughout the house, room by room. To protect the room from being too hot in summer, the blinds can automatically close according to the weather and the sun position. In the evening they will also automatically close to ensure your privacy.
